Mountain Up Olive Drab Hat

What happens when its a 110 degrees (f) outside, you have been on the range for an hour and have been training your ass off? YOU GET HOT. Getting hot causes the sweat to start pouring down. If you are like us, you probably wear a hat as a matter of necessity, which you use to keep that sweat out of your eyes. Even the best hat can only do so much, so what are you to do?

This is where Mountain Up comes in. While discussing some of our problems with sweat out on the range, Mountain Up said they might have just the solution I needed. They guided me to their Olive Drab Tactical Cap. At first look, it seems like an ordinary hat. Tactical ball cap with Velcro, custom stitching for unit pride and Moral Patches.

Once the package from Mountain Up arrived and opened, to say the very least, was very much surprising. The hat was completely customized, inside and out. In most hat cases, they only care to style and personalize the front of the hat. The underside stitching from Mountain Up was refreshing and it felt like they took the time to take care of each order.

The fit was fantastic, snug with some wiggle room. The bill was soft to form, but kept its firmness. The hat also came with a sweet Battle Born morale patch and Battle Born hat clip. The additions to the hat really makes it feel as if it is yours. You can completely customize them to fit your style and needs.

Finally to get it out to the range. We took this hat through the ringer with walking drills, transition drills and plenty of hours spent in the Arizona heat. To my surprise, the hat actually lived up to what they said it would do. It held back the sweat. Every time! Only after about 5 strait hours out in the heat did it start to let the sweat drip down my head. Their product does a great job of absorbing the sweat and dispersing through out the fabric.

It has held up to 30+ days on the range so far and going strong. Minimal fading, have not had to wash it yet. This will be my go to hat for most situations. On the range, I would recommend them to any students or shooters who need better headgear for those long range days.

Our marksmanship programs are designed with practical application in mind. What does that mean? Shooting fundamentals expand much further than the range. The biggest applications are hunting, home defense, discipline, attention to detail and confidence.
